the great unknown
Well, we went in for the big ultrasound of the new baby. Everything looks very healthy and happy... but we still don't know whether this is a boy or a girl because the baby wouldn't cooperate. I'm terribly disappointed after spending an hour getting the ultrasound to have baby which refused to give us a peek... the little one's legs were shut like Fort Knox. Seriously.
Of course, now people are trying to make me feel better by saying asinine things like "oh, there are so few surprises in life" or "maybe it just was supposed to be a surprise"... I have all the respect in the world for people who don't want to find out the sex of their babies... but I wanted to find out the sex of my baby and frankly, if I wasn't supposed to know, ultrasounds wouldn't exist... and to those who think that there are so few surprises in life... I get surprises- both good and bad- all of the time... that's life with a 2 1/2 year old... the sex of my baby doesn't have to be a surprise for me.
We are probably going to get a vanity ultrasound to see if we can find out the sex of this child... if it doesn't happen then... well, then I guess we just have a genderless child for a while.
